Hey, sis. ForGirlsLikeMe was built for you — girls and young women ages 12–24 in South Suburban and Chicagoland area who are figuring it out, fighting through it, or just need somewhere to land.
We are housing. We are school. We are career training. We are community. And we are FREE for the girls and young women we serve.
Whether you need a safe place to sleep tonight, your high school diploma, job training in healthcare, or just someone who believes in you — we've got a spot for you here.
Our Focus
ForGirlsLikeMe is a nonprofit, serving girls and young women ages 12–24 who are experiencing homelessness, housing instability, or barriers to education and economic opportunity in the Illinois 2nd Congressional District. We work through two divisions:
🏠 Pathways to Promises — Housing First Project
Crisis housing, transitional living, Rapid Re-Housing, and SSO drop-in services for girls who need a safe, stable place. Wraparound support included: case management, therapy, legal advocacy, credit repair, food and utility assistance, and Dignity Kits.
📚 ForGirlsLikeMe Academy FREE childcare, an accredited K–12 homeschool diploma program, and our Career Institute offering FREE Medical Assistant training — all in one place. Because when you address a girl's whole life — her housing, her education, her career — she doesn't just survive. She rises.

Through our Pathways to Promises Housing First Project, we offer crisis beds , transitional living, Rapid Re-Housing, and drop-in services.

Harvey, IL & Chicago, IL.
🍼 FREE CHILDCARE🍼
In partnership with Illinois Action for Children, we provide free childcare starting at 6 weeks old so moms can go to school, work, and build their futures.
📖 YOUR DIPLOMA 📖
Our accredited K–12 homeschool program — in partnership with Imagine Learning Inc. — lets you earn your high school diploma on your own schedule.
🩺 A HEALTHCARE 🩺 CAREER
Our Career Institute offers a Medical Assistant Diploma program (760–1,020 clock hours, 8–12 months, hybrid) — FREE for students through WIOA and TANF. Optional concentrations: Phlebotomy, EKG/Electrocardiography, and Medical Billing & Coding.
🤝 WRAPAROUND SUPPORT
Case management, individual and group counseling, substance abuse counseling, family counseling, therapy, legal advocacy, credit repair, food and utility assistance, Dignity Kits, and mentorship — all coordinated by one team.
